Abdul-Jabbar as “skyhook consultant” for Lakers’ Ivica Zubac?

abdul-jabbar3Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is reportedly considering rejoining the Lakers in an unspecified role, as well as “expressing interest” in helping the team’s center Ivica Zubac with this offensive game.

“He’s equipped to use it well,” Abdul-Jabbar told Orange County Register.

“He has the length to begin with. If he can develop his shooting touch and agility, he’ll use it well,” Abdul-Jabbar said.

A 19-year old, 7’1 Zubac played 38 games with the Lakers this season, averaging 7.5 ppg and 4.2 rpg in 16 minutes per game.

It remains to be seen if Abdul-Jabbar can help Zubac with the skyhook. If it works, Zubac’s offensive game would improve and help the team in the near future.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar holds NBA records for career points, Most Valuable Player Awards (6), and NBA All-Star selections (19) and is considered by many to be one of the greatest basketball players of all time.

In 1996, he was honored as one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History. Abdul-Jabbar played 1560 games in the NBA, averaging 24.6 ppg, 11.2 rpg in 36.8 mpg.
