Baron Davis has been “attempting” an NBA comeback several times already, but so far this never went beyond statements. Although recently, Davis said he’s serious about the comeback.
Davis last played in the NBA in the 2011-12 season for the New York Knicks, averaging 6.1 points, 4.7 assists and 20.5 minutes per game.
According to a TMZ report, Davis was in talks with several NBA teams, negotiating a possible spot on the team. Among the teams were LA Clippers, Cleveland Cavaliers. The LA Lakers were also reportedly interested in former All-Star.
TMZ said that despite not playing in the NBA for a while now, Davis has been keeping himself in shape.
Davis, a two-time NBA All-Star played 13 seasons in the NBA, for Charlotte Hornets (New Orleans Hornets), Golden State Warriors, LA Clippers, Cleveland Cavaliers and NY Knicks. He played a total of 835 NBA games (692 started), averaging 16.1 ppg, 7.2 apg and 3.8 rpg in 34.2 mpg.
While Davis may not be as explosive as he once was, his veteran presence on a team could help the younger players, and provide some leadership.
