Former NBA player Lamar Odom will not be facing any drug-related charges in Nevada, as there is no proof that he used drugs during his three days stay in the county, said the Nye County prosecutors.
According to abc7 Eyewitness News, the prosecutors said that they would not charge Lamar Odom for the incident where he was found unconscious at Love Ranch brothel in Crystal, Nevada, with cocaine in his system.
District attorney Angela Bello has also revealed there was no evidence of Odom using drugs during his stay at the Nevada brothel.
She also said it was difficult to find out the time Odom used the drug as the evidence of cocaine in his blood had metabolized when he was hospitalized in critical condition in Las Vegas on October 13.
Meanwhile, previously Sky News reported that staffs at the Love Ranch brothel said that they saw the former NBA star drinking alcohol and taking “herbal Viagra”.
Odom was found unconscious at the Nevada brothel and after hospitalization, the former NBA star suffered a series of strokes, TMZ reported at the time.
Odom however survived, undergoing therapy for improving his speech and walking. He has shown improvement and is currently on the recovering path.
Odom averaged a career-low 4.1 points and 5.7 rebounds per game for the LA Clippers in his last NBA season (2012-2013). In total, Odom played 14 seasons in the NBA, for LA Clippers, LA Lakers, Miami Heat, and Dallas Mavericks.
Never an All-Star, Odom still averaged solid numbers in his first 12 seasons in the league. He holds career averages of 13.3 ppg, 8.4 rpg in 33.4 mpg, appearing in 961 career NBA games (starting in 684).
