Christian Laettner to hold skills basketball camp for youngsters


laettner-miamiFormer NBA player and member of the original Dream Team, Christian Laettner will take part in a basketball camp at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, according to AthletePromotions.

Laettner, former Duke University great, will be assisting local youth players with developing the fundamental skills they need to be successful on the court, at the Sanford Power Basketball Academy.

The camp is scheduled for November 15 at the Sanford Pentagon, and will be broken down by times based on ages.

Laettner embraces the fundamentals of the game and believes that work ethic, along with determination is what takes to become a great player.

Laettner played 13 seasons in the NBA, for Minnesota Timberwolves, Atlanta Hawks, Detroit Pistons, Dallas Mavericks, Washington Wizards and Miami Heat. Laettner averaged double-figures in scoring in his first 6 NBA seasons.

He was named to the NBA All-Star team in 1997. Overall, Laettner played in 868 NBA games (started in 692), averaging 12.8 ppg, 6.7 rpg and 2.6 apg in 29.7 mpg.
