David Lee and his family of champions


david-leeDavid Lee is experiencing the thrill of victory even in retirement. And it seems like he’s going to have a family of champions soon.

The former NBA player has been in Melbourne watching his girlfriend (now fiancee) Caroline Wozniacki compete in the Australian Open.

On Saturday, Wozniacki defeated Simona Halep in three sets to capture her first grand slam.

Lee didn’t hold back, and congratulated Wozniacki via Twitter:

“Australian Open Champion and back to #1 in the world!!! Endless congrats to my amazing fiancĂ©e on her heart and dedication, so proud to have your back for life”, Lee tweeted.

David Lee played 12 seasons in the NBA, for NY Knicks, Golden State Warriors, Boston Celtics, Dallas Mavericks and San Antonio Spurs.

He was a 2-time All-star and the 2014-2015 NBA champion with the Golden State Warriors.

Lee averaged career high 20.2 ppg during the 2009-2010 season. He appeared in 829 NBA regular season games (505 started), holding career averages of 13.5 ppg and 8.8 rpg in 29.3 mpg.
