Dominique Wilkins to attend 2nd Global Diabetes Summit Community Event


Former NBA player, Hall of famer, Vice President of Basketball for Atlanta Hawks, legendary Dominique Wilkins will attend the Second Global Diabetes Summit Community Event in Ohio this Saturday.

The event will feature topic “Focus on Health and Wellness: Life Choices”.

The event will be free of charge, with pre-registration required for all attendees.

The event will also feature healthy cooking demonstrations, exercise classes that prove combating diabetes can be fun and active, celebrity testimonials, panel discussions, workshops on obesity, and more.

Physicians and nationally renowned diabetes experts will discuss: how personalized health care and genetic testing can prevent and improve diabetes care, the important role ethnicity, age and gender play in the diagnosis, treatment and management of diabetes, new available prevention methods, education and treatment options.

Dominique Wilkins is scheduled to speak about his personal battle with diabetes and how to manage this disease successfully.

Wilkins played 15 years in the NBA, earned his spot on the All-Star team 9 times. He holds career averages of 24.8 ppg, 6.7 rpg and 35.5 mpg in 1074 (started 995) NBA games.

He scored 26668 points in his career, playing for Atlanta Hawks, Los Angeles Clippers, Boston Celtics, San Antonio Spurs and Orlando Magic.
