Ex-Maverick Beaubois to play in France, yet hopes for NBA return

rodrigue-beauboisFormer Dallas Mavericks guard Rodrique Beaubois has signed a deal to play in France with Le Mans, according to a report from Sportando.

Beaubois sat out most of last season, but played late in the year in Belgium, averaging 9.4 points and 2.4 assists.

What makes the most sense is that he apparently has a clause in his contract with the French team that allows him to get out of the deal if he signs for guaranteed contract in the NBA.

Beaubois could still be signed for a veteran’s minimum with an NBA team, assuming he’s healthy, as the former guard has fought numerous injuries during his career, DallasNews reported.

Beaubois spent four seasons with the Dallas Mavericks, averaging career high 8.9 ppg and 2.9 apg in 21.7 mpg during the 2011-2012 season. In total he played in 182 games (54 started), averaging 7.1 ppg, 2.1 apg, 1.9 rpg in 15.9 mpg.
