Ex-Memphis Grizzlies player arrested

lester_hudsonAn NBA journeyman who last played for the Grizzlies was arrested in Memphis and charged with reckless driving, according to Commercial Appeal.

Lester Hudson, 28, was seen driving his cousin’s car west on American Way when he slammed on the brakes and spun out in the intersection of Mt. Moriah, according to a police affidavit.

Other cars at the intersection swerved to avoid a collision, officers reported.

Hudson then allegedly smoked his tires, spun the car in a circle several times, and sped off northbound on Mt. Moriah. Officers caught up and stopped him soon afterward.

Hudson was arrested after cursing at the officers and telling them he was going to speed off again and not stop for any pursuing police, according to the affidavit.

He posted $100 bond and was released later that day from Shelby County Jail.

Hudson, a Memphis Central High School graduate, has played for four NBA teams including the Grizzlies since being drafted by the Celtics in 2009.

Hudson played in 52 NBA games, averaging 4.8 points in 10.3 minutes of playing time. In 2011-2012 season Hudson averaged 10.9 ppg. He is not currently playing for an NBA team.
