Ex-NBA player Ron Harper holds basketball clinic in Philippines

ron-harper-in-manilaFormer NBA guard Ron Harper, while in Philippines, held a basketball camp on Oct. 5, Interaksyon. com reported.

He was joined by NBA Asia coach Sefu Bernard and Alaska Power Camp director Jojo Lastimosa.

Children from Marillac Hills and Haven for Children attended the event at The Venue, Prism Plaza at the Mall of Asia complex in Pasay City.

Harper was a member of three NBA champion teams with the Chicago Bulls from 1996 to 1998. He later won two more titles with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Harper’s trip is part of the buildup for the NBA preseason game between the Indiana Pacers and the Houston Rockets at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Harper played for Cleveland Cavs, LA Clippers, Chicago Bulls and LA Lakers. Before he joined the Bulls, Harper never averaged below 15.4 ppg in a season. In his rookie season, he averaged 22.9 ppg for Cleveland.

Harper played a total of 1009 NBA games (starting 967), averaging 13.8 ppg, 4.3 rpg and 3.9 apg in 30.9 mpg.
