Former first-ever Taiwanese-born NBA player speaks about his career

joe-alexanderOn August 7, Joe Alexander, a professional basketball forward formally with the Milwaukee Bucks and the Chicago Bulls, spoke to the Rotary Club of Frederick, Frederick News post reported.

Alexander spoke about his NBA career and earlier years growing up in Mount Airy and Beijing, China.

He played basketball at Linganore High School and during his junior and senior years and at West Virginia University.

In 2007 he was selected for All-Big East squad, was an All-American Honorable Mention and selected eighth overall in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks.

Alexander played 2 seasons in the NBA, for Milwaukee Bucks and Chicago Bulls. He averaged 4.7 ppg in his rookie season, and he holds NBA career averages of 4.2 ppg, and 11.1 mpg in 67 NBA games.

He is also the first-ever Taiwanese-born NBA player. Alexander now lives in Frederick.
