Former NBA All-Rookie team guard Jonny Flynn to play in China


jonny-flynnFormer NBA player who made the 2010 NBA All-Rookie second team, Jonny Flynn will sign with the Sichuan Blue Whales of China, Syracuse.com reported.

“He’s going to go play in China,” said Flynn’s high school coach Sal Constantino.

Flynn went to training camp with the Detroit Pistons last season and ended up in Australia with the Melbourne Tigers.

The Tigers signed former NBA former top-10 draft pick to replace sacked import Kevin Braswell.

23-year-old Flynn was the sixth pick of the 2009 NBA draft and spent time with Minnesota, Houston, Portland and Detroit.

Flynn spent three years in the NBA, having his career best season with Minnesota, playing in 81 games (81 started), averaging 13.5 ppg and 4.4 apg in 28.9 minutes of playing time.

Career wise, Flynn played 163 NBA games (90 started), averaging 9.2 ppg and 3.9 apg in 22.9 minutes per game.
