Former NBA player Jared Jeffries, who played 11 years in the league, with Washington Wizards, New York Knicks(twice), Houston Rockets, and Portland Trail Blazers, now has a fishing show, CBS Sports reported.
Jeffries has a show on the Outdoor Channel. It’s called “Modern Fishing with Jared Jeffries”.
“For Jared Jeffries, basketball has always come first. But what most people don’t know is that Jared is an avid angler with a passion for saltwater fishing. Growing up in Indiana, Jared has always been the most comfortable in the woods or on the water. So when he’s away from the court, he usually has rod in hand, and angling for the next big catch,” says the information on the show’s website.
It further says that Jeffries indends to share angling tips, tricks, and techniques of fishing “in a fun and informative way”. In the show, Jeffries is supposed to be fishing in different locations (in the Caribbean, and across the globe) in search of challenges.
Jeffries originally went 11th in the 2002 NBA draft to Washington after leading the Hoosiers, then under coach Mike Davis, to a 25-12 record and third-place finish in the Big Ten Conference.
The Bloomington native left Indiana after two seasons and went on to play two stints with the New York Knicks, a pair of seasons with the Houston Rockets and finished as a reserve for the Portland Trail Blazers.
At 6 feet, 11 inches, Jeffries spent most of his time at the forward and center positions, but he featured enough versatility to play shooting guard in spots for the Wizards.
Jeffries played a total of 629 NBA games, starting 335, and averaged 4.8 ppg and 4.1 rpg in 21.6 mpg.Follow @exnbadotcom
