Prior to Game 5 of the NBA finals between the Cleveland Cavs and the Golden State Warriors, a moment of silence was held to honor the victims of a deadly shooting in Orlando.
A lone armed gunman killed 49 people during the shooting. The tragedy was the deadliest mass shooting in United States history.
Former NBA star, and ex-Orlando Magic forward Grant Hill led the acknowledgement as members of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors took to the court to pay their respects.
“On behalf of the entire NBA family,” Hill said before asking the crowd to remember those who had lost their lives. “We send our thoughts and prayers to the families impacted by the horrific tragedy in Orlando…”
Hill, a 7-time NBA All-Star, was a 1996 Olympic gold medal winner with team USA, he also won two NCAA championships during an All-America career at Duke in the early 1990′s.
He appeared in 1026 NBA games (972 started), averaging 16.7 points, 6 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.2 steals in 33.9 minutes of playing time.Follow @exnbadotcom
