Ex-NBA player Jason Collins campaigned for Hillary Clinton

Former NBA player Jason Collins, who was the first publicly gay athlete to play in any of the four North American pro sports leagues, is on Hillary Clinton’s side.

The former player, according to CBSlocal, campaigned for the US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton early in May in Portland.

Reportedly, Collins, along with Commissioner Loretta Smith, visited barber shops and beauty salons down Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and NE Alberta Street, discussing “Clinton’s record of achieving real results and her plan to break down all the barriers that hold Oregonians back.”

Collins played 12 seasons in the NBA, appearing in 713 games, starting in 476. He holds career averages of 3.6 ppg, 3.8 rpg in 20.8 mpg.
