Lamar Odom now part of “Keeping up with the Kardashians”?

lamar-odom-lakersWith his NBA career how officially over, Lamar Odom seems to be going further and further from the sports world, and is appearing mostly in celebrity-related news columns across the internet.

It seems like the former NBA star has become a part of the “Keeping up with the Kardashians” show, being the ex-husband of Khloe Kardashian.

Khloe’s elder sister Kim Kardashian meanwhile doesn’t seem to like the idea of her sister interact with Odom, according to Yahoo News.

In the episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians Kim called Khloe out for getting flirty with Odom over the phone, while she was in the room. Khloe acted as the middleman, relaying messages between Odom and her older sister.

“He says please tell Kanye and North he says hi,” Khloe adds, pushing her luck with her clearly annoyed sister. She wanders out of the room and finally tells Odom, 35, “Kim is staring at me, I have to go,” before hanging up.

In the confessional, Kim tells the camera that she’s worried about how Khloe’s handling the split.

“I don’t know why Khloe and Lamar are talking, but he hurt her so badly,” she says. “As a big sister, I’m protective. For her to just be flirting with him on the phone makes me sick to my stomach.”

Khloe and Odom tied the knot in September 2009 after dating for several weeks. Meanwhile, the Kardashian sisters have been at odds about Khloe’s continued contact with Odom before. In another sneak peek clip from an earlier episode, Khloe admits to checking up on Odom even though the pair technically parted ways in 2013 (they finalized their divorce in July 2015).

In that clip, Khloe gets frustrated when she left one of her phones behind at the house after she and Kim are in a car together.

“Why do you need Lamar’s number?” Kim asks after she gets it out of Khloe that Odom’s number is the one she needs.

“So I can check on him!” Khloe says. “I haven’t had my Blackberry all week since I’ve been here because it’s broken and I wanted to make sure he’s okay. Can’t I do that?”

This wasn’t the first time Odom “appeared” in the show, as he did previously, when his friend died. He turned to Khloe Kardashian.

In an episode of “Keeping up with the Kardashians” from Oct. 3, Khloe Kardashian, is hanging out at DASH in Beverly Hills, when she receives an urgent phone call from Odom. Though she seems reluctant to pick up, she immediately does — his best friend Jamie Sangouthai, has just died.

“Lamar has experienced so much loss in his life,” Khloe said. “I’m always going to be there for Lamar, especially when something so tragic happens. I’m really on high alert for Lamar because anything will set him to spiral and that’s kind of the last thing I want for him.”

Odom averaged a career-low 4.1 points and 5.7 rebounds per game for the LA Clippers in his last NBA season (2012-2013). In total, Odom played 14 seasons in the NBA, for LA Clippers, LA Lakers, Miami Heat, and Dallas Mavericks.

Never an All-Star, Odom still averaged solid numbers in his first 12 seasons in the league. He holds career averages of 13.3 ppg, 8.4 rpg in 33.4 mpg, appearing in 961 career NBA games (starting in 684).

Odom has also gained a significant amount of weight since retiring from professional basketball, as he was spotted in an airport by RadarOnline shortly after the death of his friend Jamie Sangouthai.
