jerrod-mustaf-suitNBA star James Harden will join the representatives of the Street Basketball Association (SBA) on a trip to China, according to SBA founder, former NBA player Jerrod Mustaf.

Mustaf said in the continued efforts to market the sport of basketball all over the world, the SBA International Federation and SBA Sports Worldwide are partnering with Urban Fable Basketball, one of the largest grassroots sanctioned basketball organizations in Mainland China to promote the sport with appearances and events.

“The SBA and Urban Fable are co-producing special events, basketball clinics, and promotional appearances in Beijing, China on July 19, 2014 featuring Superstar James Harden,” Mustaf noted on SportsBlogs.

“In addition, James Harden and the SBA will visit the Great Wall as well as sight-see to the many historic and magical places of Beijing initiating a number of cross-cultural exchanges and opportunities with fans, companies, government officials, sponsors, media outlets, and television,” he added.

Mustaf, a former NY Knicks and Phoenix Suns forward, said that James Harden’s July visit to China marks another step in the SBA’s strategic positioning in preparation for additional international events as well as the launch of an end of the summer basketball challenge initiative here in the United States featuring SBA Pro Street Ball Teams representing 8-12 cities.

He said SBA Sports Worldwide has played a key role in expanding the Street Basketball Association operations overseas with the development of the SBA International Basketball Federation, with 30 coalition members representing over 27 countries on 6 continents.

Founded by Mustaf in 2001, the SBA has spearheaded the growth and development of the basketball industry globally producing countless events throughout the United States, South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa from tours, shows, and demonstrations, to competitions, clinics, exhibitions, and expos entertaining and educating fans worldwide.

Mustaf himself played four seasons in the NBA, one for NY Knicks, and three for Phoenix Suns. Mustaf played a total of 179 NBA games (starting in 19), averaging 4.0 ppg, 2.5 rpg in 10.6 mpg.
