NBRPA helps out disabled ex-Boston Celtics forward


ron-wattsThe NBRPA (National Retired Players Association) has recently helped out a former Boston Celtics forward, Ron Watts, according to NBRPA’s Facebook page.

The NBA Legends Foundation awarded former NBA forward Watts “with a wheelchair to aid in his life after the game of basketball”.

Watts was a 6’6 forward from Wake Forest University, and got drafted by the Boston Celtics in the 2nd round (9th pick, 17th overall) in the 1965 NBA Draft.

Watts went on to play in the NBA for two seasons (1965–67) as a member of the Boston Celtics. He scored 40 points in his NBA career, appearing in 28 games.
