O’Neal delivered a speech at the event, thanking his mother, father, first coach and others for believing in him and making him the man he is today.
O’Neal also congratulated people on Valentine’s Day, and asked people to give a big round of applause for other NBA legends present there – namely Magic Johnson, Karl Malone, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, George Gervin, Dikembe Mutombo and others.
Former Lakers center shared a story from his youth, when he was 6’9 and couldn’t dunk, and even considered going to the army, when his life was changed forever.
“To all the children out there, never give up on your dreams, follow them,” O’Neal said. “You can be just like us, you can be better than us, you can do it.”Follow @exnbadotcom
