Tracy McGrady likely to make three-day visit to Manila

mcgrady-spurs-finalsNegotiations are reportedly underway to bring recently retired Tracy McGrady in Manila before he rejoins the Qingdao Eagles in the Chinese Basketball Association around October.

McGrady announced his retirement this week after spending 16 seasons in the NBA.

According to Spin.ph, Basketball player agent Sheryl Reyes has already contacted McGrady’s representatives for a possible three-day stint in Manila.

Reyes added that McGrady’s visit will include a fans’ day similar to the visit of former NBA All-Star Stephon Marbury.

“If the deal we’re doing with Qingdao in China pushes through, there is a 95 percent chance that T-Mac will come over to Manila for a two or three-day visit. It’s kind of similar to what we have for Stephon Marbury,” Reyes told Spin.ph.

The former Houston Rockets and Orlando Magic All-Star signed a one-year deal with Qingdao last season, averaging 25.0 points, 7.2 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.6 steals per game.

After his stint with the Chinese ball club, McGrady was signed by the San Antonio Spurs for the remainder of the season.

McGrady nearly won his first NBA title, but the Spurs lost to the Miami Heat in an epic seven-game finals series in June.

Former NBA All-Star averaged 19.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game in a career that started in 1997, when he was drafted out of high school.
