Will Clifford Robinson join 28th season of Survivor?

Clifford-robinson-phoenixThere were rumors floating online that former NBA forward Clifford Robinson might participate in the 28th season of the Survivor, according to Grantland.

Robinson is of only three players in NBA history that are 6’10’’ or taller with more than 1,200 three-pointers under his belt.

Trey Kerby and Leigh Ellis, of NBA TV’s The Starters (né The Basketball Jones), received word via tweet that Robinson would be in Jeff Probst’s next human ant farm.

Robinson’s inactivity on Twitter suggest that former NBA player is going to be on “Survivor”.

“Survivor has been known to throw an athlete or famous person on there and the tea leaves certainly point towards Uncle Cliffy being a special guest who will be voted out early because he is 6-foot-10 and your classic “physical threat”,” Kerby wrote.

“I don’t know how he’d ever keep his identity secret on the show — which would probably get him voted off instantly since it’d be common knowledge that he made a ton of money while playing — but I really hope he’s on it and that he brings one of those headbands as a luxury item,” Kerby wrote.

Robinson played 19 seasons in the NBA, appearing in total of 1380 games (started in 844). He played for Portland TrailBlazers, Phoenix Suns, Detroit Pistons, Golden State Warriors and New Jersey Nets.

Robinson, a 1994 NBA All-star, averaged career high 21.3 ppg for Portland in 1993-94 season. He holds career averages of 14.2 ppg and 4.6 rpg in 30.8 mpg.
