Former NBA staffer to become Cumberland town councilor

bill-stilesA former staffer for the Boston Celtics and Indiana Pacers will become Cumberland’s next town councilor.

Council Vice-Chairman Bill Stiles confirmed that Jon Jennings has been picked from ten applicants to replace Councilor Steve Moriarty, who resigned after being elected to the state House of Representatives.

Jennings is credited with being instrumental in bringing the Maine Red Claws NBA development team to Portland, and also served as a White House staffer and in the U.S. Justice Department.

Jennings appointment will be confirmed at the council’s January 28th meeting.
