Shaq says he can do anything on Inside the NBA, including setting himself on fire

shaq-kennysmith-barkleyIf you’re an NBA fan and watch Inside the NBA on a regular basis, you have to admit that watching Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith do whatever they’re doing on the show – is fun.

All of the mentioned former NBA stars announced to have their contracts extended for multi-year so “the show will go on”.

Before the start of every ‘Inside the NBA’ on TNT show, the three analysts don’t attend production meetings. There’s no prep, there’s not a rundown of what they’re going to say. Welcome the new form of entertainment on sports television.

When Shaquille O’Neal fell down in the middle of a take during the 2014-2015 season, Charles Barkley said it was just something at this point they’ve come to expect.

“He’s always pushing the envelope,” Barkley said. “That was funny because it was so unplanned. But if he ever got hurt at work it’s not like anyone would be shocked.”

O’Neal himself said he didn’t have any safety provisions in his new contract.

“I can do whatever I want in the show. Set myself on fire. I can fall off the set.”

Kenny Smith added that the more Shaq falls, “the better we are”.
