kidd-3There was Magic Johnson, there was John Stockton. Then came along Gary Payton, and then Jason Kidd a few years later. After 19 years in the NBA, Kidd rightfully is considered one of the best passing and rebounding point guards in NBA history.

Kidd played 1391 games in the NBA, starting in 1350 of them. He holds career averages of 12.6 ppg, 5 rpg and 6.3 apg in 36 minutes on the court.

Kidd, who had two years remaining on his contract at just over $3 million per year, left with a legacy that includes an NBA championship with the Dallas Mavericks and two Olympic gold medals with Team USA.

Below is a video showcasing Jason Kidd as he was: his college years, his rookie season, his leadership with the New Jersey Nets, his NBA championship with the Mavericks in 2011 and his last year as a NY Knick.
