Historic visit of former NBA players to North Korea (PHOTOS)

AP photoLet’s put aside all the negativity that was caused by the fact that retired NBA players visited North Korea to play a couple of basketball games.

A history has been made. Years later, a lot of people might recall the early days of January 2014, when former NBA player, Hall of Famer, Dennis Rodman brought other former NBA players to play basketball in North Korea.

This has never happened before. No other NBA players ever visited the arguably most repressive country in the world.

Rodman, along with Kenny Anderson, Charles Smith, Vin Baker, Clifford Robinson, Doug Christie – these are the former NBA players that visited North Korea and played in two basketball games there, against the National North Korean team.

The question whether it was right or wrong to go there in the first place, remains open. Rodman said Kim Jong-un was his friend. Charles Smith said he has no regrets and even got invited to come back. Kenny Anderson felt bad about the trip. Christie and Baker kept silent.

And still, such a historic event deserves its own post here on ExNBA. So below are the photos of the above mentioned former NBA stars who visited North Korea.
