John Stockton needs no introduction. He’s the NBA’s all-time leading player in assists. All-time leading in steals as well. He’s considered to be one of the best top 5 point guards in NBA history.
Stockton played in 1504 NBA games (starting in 1300), all for the Utah Jazz, for 19 seasons. He didn’t miss a single game in his last 5 seasons before retiring. He holds career averages of 13.1 ppg, 10.5 apg and 2.2 spg in 31.8 mpg.
Stockton led the NBA in assists per game 9 straight seasons in a row, and has accumulated 15,806 total assists during his career – NBA’s best in history. Stockton also led the league in steals twice in his career, and has a total of 3265 career steals – also NBA’s best in history.
Stockton played on the USA Dream Team, was an all-star 10 times, and helped the Utah Jazz reach the NBA finals twice in 1997 and 1998. He was elected as one of 50 greatest players in the NBA, as well as to the Basketball Hall of Fame.
