Maurice Taylor was a 6’9, 260-pound power forward, who made an impact in his first four years in the NBA. At times looking like the great Charles Barkley, Taylor’s low-post game and powerful dunks quickly made him one of the most promising young NBA stars.
Taylor suffered an injury in the middle of his career and missed the entire 2000-01 season. He came back to play another 5 seasons in the league, never realizing his full potential.
Taylor played overall 534 NBA games (started 227), averaging 11 ppg and 4.6 rpg in 25 mpg. After the NBA, Taylor also played overseas in Italy and China.
