Shawn Kemp was one of the most electrifying and exciting power forward of the 1990’s. Along with Gary Payton, Kemp was the heart and soul of the Seattle Supersonics team.
SuperSonics drafted Kemp in the first round of the 1989 NBA Draft. At the tender age of 19, he was the youngest player in the NBA but that did not stop him from being a key contributor to the SuperSonics team.
By his second season he skyrocketed to superstardom. Kemp would go on to play 14 seasons in the NBA and make six All-Star teams, and even play on the US Dream Team II. Kemp also helped the SuperSonics reach the NBA finals in 1996, where the team fell to the champion Chicago Bulls.
Despite all his accomplishments, Kemp will forever be known for his dunking. The 6’10 Kemp dunked on everybody, as he once admitted – on centers, guards, in traffic, he even participated in a Slam Dunk Contest. Kemp holds career averages of 14.6 ppg, 8.4 rpg and 1.2 bpg in 1051 NBA games (727 started).
Below are video highlights of Kemp’s best dunks throughout his career with Seattle, overall more than 100 dunks.
