Former NBA all-star Stephon Marbury has recently won his third Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) title in four years.Marbury averaged 29.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 5.7 assists and two steals over the best-of-seven series for the Beijing Ducks, and was named the MVP after the finals.
However, there was a moment in a finals game against the Liaoning Flying Leopards, which Marbury would rather forget. The opposing team’s 7’1, 300-pound Han Dejun (Chinese Shaq), throw down a two-handed dunk, along with Marbury, who tried to block the attempt.
Marbury was a 2-time All-Star in the NBA, averaging 19.3 ppg, 7.6 apg in 846 career NBA games (816 started).
With his NBA options becoming limited, Marbury decided in 2010 to head for China in hopes of jump-starting his career.
Since arriving in Beijing, he’s become the unrivaled fan favorite and the team’s on-court leader. Former NBA star said he plans to stay in China after retiring and hopes to coach the national team one day.Follow @exnbadotcom
